VirtuaLEVA 2020 Offers Affordable Online Forensic Video Training Options

(WHITESBORO, TEX.) – In response to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 LEVA Digital Multimedia Evidence Training Symposium has been converted from a live event to a series of online training sessions. Now called VirtuaLEVA 2020, the 31st annual symposium of the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association will be delivered via Zoom Pro from Oct. 26-30, with recorded sessions accessible until April 1, 2021.

“While we are disappointed that LEVA 2020 will not be an in-person event as usual, we’re excited about the opportunity that VirtuaLEVA offers, especially to those facing budgetary concerns,” said Jan Garvin, LEVA Executive Director. “Despite the very reasonable registration rates, we’ve built a full symposium schedule, so there’s no diluting of training content.”

Over the five-day virtual conference, more than 20 sessions will cover a variety of technologies and techniques related to forensic video and audio analysis. VirtuaLEVA is priced at $250 for LEVA members or $350 for non-members. According to Garvin, VirtuaLEVA has already registered attendees from 15 states, as well as Canada, England, Sweden, Norway, and Australia.

LEVA membership is not required to attend VirtuaLEVA 2020, but classes can earn hours toward LEVA certification. LEVA members that attend all live workshops and recorded sessions can accrue 46 training hours (or 39.5 hours if they only attend recorded sessions).
