CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Cobalt Digital today announced Kurt Caruthers has joined the company as sales manager for the U.S. Central Region, effective Feb. 25. He replaces Jacob Kinsey, who has been promoted to chief development officer after more than 10 years with the company.
An industry veteran, Caruthers most recently was a regional account manager for Grass Valley. He has also led regional sales efforts for LiveU, Miranda Technologies, Avid, and Odetics. He started his career as a station engineer for KOAM-TV in Pittsburg, Kan., where he maintained equipment and served as TD for the local newscast. At Cobalt, Caruthers is tasked with building new business and providing service to current customers in the region.
“Kurt is very familiar with customers and business opportunities in the central region, and we are happy to have him on board,” said Chris Shaw, Cobalt executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Jacob’s new role will help our company be more efficient and, as a result, even more responsive to our customers.”
In his new role, Kinsey is involved in helping to manage the company’s growth by working cross functionally throughout the organization on revenue generation and cost optimization initiatives. He will remain in Cobalt’s main offices in Champaign.
